Itinerary
DAY 1: HANOI
INTERNATIONAL ARRIVAL WITH VIP FAST TRACK SERVICE
Welcome to Vietnam! Upon touchdown at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport you will be met right at the airplane's arrival gate by friendly Fast Track Service staff. You will be whisked through immigration via the diplomatic lane, have your luggage retrieved and carried, and be delivered to your Hanoi host waiting for you in the Arrival Hall. A private vehicle will be ready to take you to your hotel.
Depending on the time of arrival, enjoy the evening at leisure in your hotel or get ready to hit the ground running and dive into Vietnam's vibrant capital city.
DAY 2: HANOI
HANOI INSIDE OUT
Duration: 6 hours
Hanoi has been the Vietnamese capital since 1010 A.D so there are an endless amount of stories to be regaled from within the city's bustling alleyways and diverse quarters. Today, we'll turn Hanoi inside out as we immerse ourselves in these stories.
The must-sees of the Old Quarter are best explored in a cyclo: a bicycle-powered rickshaw driven from behind by a native Hanoian! Drift elegantly through the busy inner streets, taking in the hustle and bustle on all sides. You'll then continue on air-con van and visit the Temple of Literature, the Parisian boulevards of the French Quarter and, if you're up for it, Ho Chi Minh's Museum complex and the historic Ba Dinh Square.
The sightseeing will be complemented by two essential Vietnamese experiences: slurping on a bowl of Noodle Soup (Pho) and sipping on some traditional Vietnamese ice coffee (Cafe Sua Da), or even egg-coffee (Ca phe trung) as a unique and delicious drink that originated in Hanoi.
DAY 3: HANOI
HANOI BACKSTREETS BY VINTAGE MOTORCYCLE
Duration: 4 hours 30 minutes
Motorcycles are the staple mode of transportation in Hanoi and are an important part of the city's character. While they come in all shapes and sizes, we will kick it old-school and explore Hanoi on the back of vintage Soviet-era Minsk motorcycles, driven by our experienced drivers.
We'll head into the narrow maze of winding, zigzagging back streets and alleyways where you'll have the opportunity to experience authentic, behind the scenes Hanoi. Suddenly, we'll find ourselves in the middle of the biggest second-hand electronics and mechanics market in Vietnam where you can buy anything from a spare tire for a US Army Jeep to a Chinese bicycle pedal. Leaving this ""black market"" behind, we'll visit a Hanoian family home to see close-up how the locals live and understand more about how Hanoi has changed over the last few decades. The adventure continues with the short journey to West Lake which most visitors don't have the chance to see. This is a high-end area with botanical gardens, cafes, restaurants and nightlife venues edging Hanoi's largest freshwater lake.
Discover a hidden village where you'll find mouthwatering food stalls run by local families. This is a perfect time to treat ourselves to the most authentic local cuisine. We'll sample a few morsels before heading to a coffeeshop to find out why locals call their unique 'egg coffee' the cappuccino of Vietnam.
EAT & DRINK VIETNAM
Duration: 3 hours
Grilled meats, fresh seafood, tangy salads and a cornucopia of sesame, garlic, cilantro, chilli and lime are just the starting point for one of Asia's darling cuisines. Today we'll enjoy an introduction to Vietnamese food and drink, the basic ingredients, various styles, and of course lots of sampling. Starting out on foot from our hotel in the old quarter, we'll make our way to Chau Long fresh market for a visual and sensory overload of produce. Sampling is key, and we'll make a couple of stops at cafes to experience a few bedrock culinary experiences: spring rolls, salad wraps and, of course, Vietnamese coffee.
We'll stretch out the walk, even peak into the Hanoi Hilton and then let loose on simply outstanding local cuisine. Lunch is a treat of local specialties: vermicelli noodles with tender grilled pork, broth and herbs, fresh garlic and chilies. Late afternoon is open, though we have several suggestions such as an art gallery stroll in the cathedral district, shopping, spa, or a nap. There is plenty of food still to find in the capital.
DAY 4: HANOI & HA LONG
LAND TRANSFER HANOI TO HA LONG
No trip to Northern Vietnam is complete without a visit to Ha Long Bay, a remarkable seascape of lush, rainforest-clad limestone islands and pillars jutting out of the surrounding emerald blue water as far as the eye can see. And there is no better way to experience this UNESCO World Heritage Site than by sailing through the calm, scenic waters on board an elegantly designed and high-standard Junk ship.
We will drive 2.5hr from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay where, upon arrival, your crew will welcome everyone aboard the ship and set sail into the Bay. Situate yourself on the deck and take in the never ending parade of karsts, caves, and coves passing by on all sides.

Activities: Tai Chi on sundeck - rejuvenating the body and spirit with a refreshing Tai Chi lesson as the sun rises over the acclaimed UNESCO Heritage Site is one of the most relaxing experiences that passengers have. Be amazed at Sung Sot Cave's beauty - paying a visit to the largest and most renowned cave will definitely awe you with many good surprises. DAY 6: HUE
HISTORICAL HUE (CYCLING)
Duration: 6 hours
Known as the Imperial City, Hue is one of Vietnam's most important historical sites. Hue was the political, cultural and religious center of the Nguyen Dynasty, Vietnam's last royal family, who were in power from 1802 to 1945. Now inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the various monuments in and around the town and along the winding Perfume River make for an incredible day of exploration. And we'll do it the best way we know how: on bicycles!
We will visit Forbidden Purple City which, similar to the more famous Forbidden City in China, was accessible only to the elites of imperial Vietnam. We will then head outside of town to see the elaborate tomb of emperor Tu Duc, the Nguyen Dynasty's longest reigning monarch. The bike ride will be rounded off with a visit to bunker hill, where hidden American war bunkers offer a fascinating glimpse into Hue's importance during the Vietnam War but also offer a spectacular view of the Perfume River and the surrounding floodplain.
A day in Hue isn't complete without some savory Vietnamese cuisine - let's enjoy local style dumplings for lunch before heading back for some well-deserved R&R.
DAY 7: HUE & HOI AN
HUE TO HOI AN - OVERLAND TRANSFER BY PRIVATE VAN WITH HOST
Time to say goodbye to Hue! You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to your next destination, Hoi An, by private van.
Note: The drive from Hue to Hoi An is around two and a half hours. Along the way we will stop for lunch and if time is permitted we will also visit Thanh Toan bridge and Ghost city.
Thanh Toan Bridge: Step into a realm of serenity at Thanh Toan Bridge - a timeless gem nestled in the Vietnamese countryside. This ancient covered bridge, spanning a reflective canal, carries whispers of history and community. As you stroll its timeworn planks, you'll be transported to another era, where the past meets the present. Beyond its architectural grace, Thanh Toan Bridge offers a glimpse into local life. Visit the Thanh Toan Village Agricultural Museum and soak in the charm of the nearby market.
An Bang Ghost City: Discover An Bang Ghost City, where the past speaks through ancient ruins. Wander among the remnants, revealing hidden tales and mysteries. Immerse in history and embrace the captivating local stories that give this place its allure.
DAY 8: HOI AN
CHARMING HOI AN
Duration: 6 hours 30 minutes
Hoi An is one of Vietnam's most elegant and historic towns. A major maritime trading center for centuries, Hoi An hosts beautifully preserved and diverse architecture, delicious food, and lots of opportunities for exploration. Today, we will bask in a little bit of everything that gives Hoi An its charm.
For early risers, visit the picturesque fish and central markets to watch locals as they prepare for their day. Afterward, we will take a drive to Tra Que Village, where you will be introduced to Vietnamese organic farming techniques and discover the typical countryside of central Vietnam, far from the touristy areas. You will interact with passionate locals who are enthusiastic about sustainable farming and protecting the environment. Learn how to make traditional Vietnamese rice pancakes (banh xeo) and then enjoy a delicious organic lunch.
After lunch, a short drive to the ocean and the quintessential Central Vietnamese experience of rowing a coracle fishing boat (also known as basket boats). You'll be surprised how tricky this little bamboo boat can be to maneuver; but don't worry, our local friends will show you how it's done.
For the remainder of the early afternoon we will set out on a walking exploration of Hoi An town to discover some of its many interesting nooks and crannies.
DAY 9: HOI AN
HOI AN COUNTRYSIDE BY VESPA
Duration: 6 hours 30 minutes
Today we'll jump on the back of classic vespa scooters and travel like the locals do, allowing us to cover more ground and venture further afield, away from the tourist areas. We'll begin by exploring the ancient town, taking in the main UNESCO sites and wind through hidden alleys and backroads to experience the authentic local way of life in Hoi An. Then we'll head out of town for an exciting journey through picturesque paddy fields into the scenic countryside.
We'll visit a local farm where you can learn about the cultivation of rice, vegetables, and grains. Gain insight into the daily routines of the farmers and discover the traditional method of making rice wine. If you're up for it, enjoy a glass or two! We'll then head to a local family's residence for a delectable home-cooked feast. Indulge in mouthwatering dishes that showcase the flavors of Vietnamese cuisine. This unique dining experience offers an intimate glimpse into the home life of the locals.
After lunch, we'll take a moment to unwind and savor a delicious cup of local tea amidst the photogenic surroundings. As the day comes to a close, bid farewell to our gracious hosts and head to the mangroves and wetlands area of Hoi An. Immerse yourself in the unique and enjoyable experience of riding in a bamboo basket boat (coracles), gliding gracefully through the river's tributaries.

Note: the drive from Hoi An to Da Nang International Airport is around one hour.
Welcome to Southern Vietnam and to the country's energetic commercial heart! Upon touchdown in Saigon (officially known as Ho Chi Minh City) collect your luggage and make your way to the arrivals hall where your friendly Saigon host will be waiting for you. A transfer vehicle will be ready to take you to your hotel.
SAIGON - CU CHI TUNNELS WITH VETERAN MEETING AND SPEEDBOAT
Duration: 5 hours
The afternoon will be spent exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels where the Vietcong dug 250 kilometers of passageways from the Cambodian border towards Saigon, eventually capturing the city. While heavily visited, it's astounding what they constructed and you'll have the opportunity to squeeze through most of these very narrow passageways. This visit gives an enduring appreciation for the tenacity and sacrifices of the Vietnamese people.
A private speedboat with a picnic snack and drinks on board is a fun way to make your return journey from Cu Chi to Saigon with great views to be had from the river along the way.
DAY 11: SAIGON
SAIGON'S CHINATOWN AND HISTORICAL DISTRICT
Duration: 5 hours
Today we'll hit the town by three-wheeled cyclo. A vintage and slow-paced way of getting around, we'll head to Cholon, Saigon's Chinatown, where we can roam around the old spice district as well as the colorful and sensory Binh Tay Market. We will also get pedaled to Giac Lam Pagoda, one of the city's oldest Buddhist temples.
The morning ride through markets will no doubt leave us building up an appetite. Lunch will be one of the most classic and ubiquitous of Vietnamese dishes: pho noodle soup. Saigon is considered by many to have the best pho in Vietnam. We'll let you be the judge before enjoying a coffee in the park and continuing our exploration of Saigon's historical district on foot in the afternoon before your transfer to the Saigon Airport.
VIETNAM - SEE YOU AGAIN!
