Itinerary
DAY 1: HANOI
ARRIVAL
Upon touchdown at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport, you will whisk through immigration then have your luggage retrieved and carried, and be escorted to your Hanoi host waiting for you in the Arrival Hall. A private vehicle will be ready to take you on an adventure back to the Hanoi center.
HANOI, UNHURRIED
After settling into your hotel, your introduction to Hanoi begins with a gently curated stroll through the quieter corners of the Old Quarter and along Hoan Kiem Lake. Moving at a relaxed pace and away from conventional routes, this walk offers an intimate encounter with the city's layered architecture and the quiet poetry of daily life.
Along the way, pause at a discreet lakeside café to enjoy two enduring Hanoi rituals. A freshly prepared bánh mì, elegant in its simplicity, followed by cà phê trứng, the city's rich and velvety egg coffee. These moments invite you to rest, observe, and ease naturally into Hanoi's rhythm.
As the afternoon unfolds, continue through the surrounding neighborhood with your dedicated local host, whose subtle storytelling brings context and depth to the scenes around you.
Later, step into a more nostalgic perspective with a private cyclo journey through Hanoi's storied streets. Unhurried and atmospheric, this experience is not designed for sightseeing, but for absorbing Hanoi's textures, sounds, and shifting light from a timeless vantage point.
As evening approaches, return to the calm of your hotel to refresh and unwind before dinner at Chapter Dining. With its limited seating and chef-led philosophy, Chapter presents an intimate expression of contemporary Vietnamese fine dining. Rooted in Northern heritage and guided by seasonality, each course reflects restraint, precision, and quiet confidence.
The day concludes with a sense of harmony, where refinement is found in authenticity, and luxury reveals itself in the pleasure of slowing down.
DAY 2: HANOI
HANOI IN PASSING
For over a millennium, Hanoi has endured as a capital of memory, nuance, and quiet beauty. Its character is revealed gently, through atmosphere rather than spectacle.
The day begins with a rare vintage sidecar journey, an increasingly uncommon privilege that offers a uniquely intimate perspective of the city. Seated low to the streets, you glide through tree-lined boulevards, colonial facades softened by time, and the layered contrasts that define the capital. The route flows naturally from the elegance of the French Quarter to the calmer edges of West Lake, where temple roofs and monastery walls introduce a slower, almost contemplative rhythm.
In Ba Dinh, Hanoi reveals its more personal register. A gently guided walk through narrow residential lanes and a local wet market offers fleeting yet deeply human glimpses of daily life. Nearby, a quiet lakeside pause brings a striking reminder of history, where the preserved remains of a B52 aircraft rest in silence. For those seeking deeper understanding, a private conversation with a wartime witness can be thoughtfully arranged, allowing the past to be encountered through lived memory.
Throughout the day, a private vehicle remains discreetly at your disposal, ensuring comfort as the experience unfolds. Moments of reflection may include the Temple of Literature, where centuries of scholarship linger in tranquil courtyards, as well as unhurried passages through the shaded avenues of the French Quarter. For guests inclined towards further context, Ba Dinh Square and the Ho Chi Minh Museum complex provide quiet historical perspective.
Hanoi's essence is perhaps most eloquently expressed through its flavors. A bowl of phở or bún chả, followed by cà phê sữa đá, becomes less a meal than a continuation of place. Hanoi does not seek attention. It reveals itself, quietly, to those who move slowly enough to see."
PRIVATE WATER PUPPETS
If you want to experience water puppetry in the most authentic way possible, this is it.
You won't be sitting in a crowded theater or watching a polished tourist show. Instead, you will follow a small lane in a quiet Hanoi neighborhood, passing motorbikes, tiny tea shops, and the daily rhythm of local life. At the end of the alley is a modest family home, where three generations of artisans have devoted their lives to Vietnam's water puppet tradition.
Inside, their living room has been turned into a small stage built by hand. Everything feels real and personal. The colors of the puppets, the smell of the wood, the old drums resting in the corner. This family does not perform for fame. They perform because this art is part of who they are. One of their puppets is displayed at the Louvre Museum, but you would never hear them brag about it. They smile gently when you ask, almost shy that the world has noticed their work.
Your visit begins with a private show just for you. The puppets move through the water with humor and charm. The artists laugh softly behind the curtain, enjoying every moment as much as you do. You are close enough to see the splashes, the stories, the small imperfections that make the performance alive.
Afterward, the family invites you to step behind the stage. They place the bamboo poles in your hands and teach you how to guide a puppet across the water. It looks simple until you try it. Then you begin to understand the skill, the patience, and the love behind this tradition.
You sit down for tea, listening to their stories about how the craft has survived through wars, poverty, and changing times. Each generation has kept it alive with quiet dedication. Meeting them feels less like a workshop and more like being welcomed into a family that carries a piece of Vietnam's soul.
This is not a show. It is a heartfelt cultural encounter, created by people who live and breathe their art. A special travel moment you will remember long after you leave Hanoi.
DAY 3: HANOI
THE VIETNAMESE COFFEE RITE
Wine can overstimulate and loosen control. Tea can turn the mind inward, sometimes too quietly, inviting contemplation without momentum. Coffee lives in between. Few realize that from the moment coffee entered human life, civilization turned a page. Periods of great invention, clarity of thought, and decisive action often followed. There is even an observable truth: where coffee consumption is high, progress and modernity tend to accelerate.
Vietnam tells this story in its own way. Coffee arrived here nearly two centuries ago. From a nation once struggling with scarcity, Vietnam has risen to become one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic countries in the world. Coffee is now inseparable from Vietnamese daily life, especially Robusta, resilient, bold, and enduring, much like the Vietnamese spirit itself.
This experience invites you into a rare morning ritual in Hanoi, one that very few people in the world have ever been allowed to witness, let alone participate in. Until now, it has been reserved exclusively for Vietnam's highest diplomatic ceremonies with visiting heads of state. Today, by an extraordinary stroke of fortune, you are welcomed into this inner circle.
You leave the noise of everyday life behind and change into a specially designed Zen outfit created solely for this experience. It begins with gentle moving meditation, a quiet fusion of tai chi, yoga, and traditional Vietnamese martial arts. It is an embodied reminder that all movement ultimately returns to stillness, and all stillness leads inward, toward wisdom.
Then, you sit. Time slows. The space becomes so calm you can hear each drop of coffee falling softly into the cup. With your own hands, you brew Vietnamese coffee in its purest form. You taste resilience, depth, and clarity in every drop. Through quiet guidance and reflection, you come to understand why coffee in Vietnam is not merely a beverage, but a way of life. A practice of awareness, balance, and refined simplicity.
This is not a tasting. It is a privilege. An experience that exists only here, and only for those fortunate enough to be invited.
YEN TU
LAND TRANSFER FROM HANOI TO YEN TU
Duration: 3 hours
Today, we continue our journey from Hanoi to Yên Tử, the sacred land where Emperor turned monk Trần Nhân Tông chose to retreat and later founded the Trúc Lâm Zen sect. Cradled within majestic mountains, this spiritual heart of Vietnamese Buddhism is home to ancient temples, pagodas, and secluded hermitages. Yên Tử is a place of deep connection to history, culture, and inner stillness. As a Vietnamese saying goes, ""A hundred years of cultivating virtue and walking the spiritual path, if one has not been to Yên Tử, the practice is not yet complete.""
Once settled, we will sit down to enjoy lunch at Thọ Quang Restaurant, whose name may be translated as ""Longevity and Radiance,"" symbolizing enduring vitality and inner light. Carefully curated from the freshest local ingredients, each dish is thoughtfully reimagined by a team of talented chefs who bring new life to familiar flavors. Dining at Thọ Quang can be likened to a refined culinary journey, where Eastern and Western inspirations meet in a harmonious and memorable sensory experience."
YEN TU
YOGA: BODY, MIND & SPIRIT – EMPHASIZES HOLISTIC BALANCE
Duration: 8 hours
Health is Wealth, Peace of Mind is Happiness, Yoga Shows the Way – Swami Vishnu Devananda.
Many people think of yoga as just a form of physical exercise or stretching, like what we often see in modern yoga studios. In reality, yoga is an ancient way of life, a science developed thousands of years ago to bring balance to body, mind, and intellect.
We now have the opportunity to explore classical yoga through a two-part workshop series. The first session offers a theoretical introduction to classical yoga, its philosophy, and the five essential pillars of yoga: 1. Proper Exercise (Asana) – Mindful movements to strengthen and align the body. 2. Proper Breathing (Pranayama) – Techniques to energize and calm the mind. 3. Proper Relaxation (Savasana & Rest) – Deep relaxation for restoring body and mind. 4. Proper Diet (Ahara) – Guidance on nutrition for vitality and balance. 5. Positive Thinking & Meditation (Dhyana) – Practices to cultivate mental clarity and inner peace.
The second session is a 90-minute asana practice, designed to integrate these five principles, allowing participants to experience harmony and balance of body, mind, and intellect. This workshop series provides a holistic introduction to classical yoga, giving you the tools to bring well-being, focus, and serenity into everyday life.
DAY 4: YEN TU
AWAKENING AT THE SACRED PEAK OF YEN TU
Duration: 4 hours
There are places in the world where nature and spirit converge, and Yên Tử is one of them. Known as the sacred cradle of Vietnamese Buddhism, Yên Tử is not only the birthplace of the Trúc Lâm Zen lineage but also the spiritual home of Emperor Trần Nhân Tông, who, after two victorious campaigns against the Mongol invasions, relinquished his throne to pursue enlightenment on this very mountain.
What makes Yên Tử truly unique is not just the view, but the energy. Perched high above the clouds, the mountain peak is revered as the meeting point of earth and sky, where the passage from night to day feels like a ritual of the universe itself. Even when mist veils the horizon, the experience remains deeply powerful, the mountain itself holds a stillness and sacredness that no weather can obscure.
Your journey begins in silence, as a private cable car carries you above ancient forests resting in night's embrace. With the final steps toward the sacred Đồng Pagoda, you pause in quiet presence, hearing the resonance of temple bells echo into the mountain air. Whether or not the sun appears, you stand in a place imbued with centuries of prayer, where day and night meet, and where your own spirit opens to stillness.
At Yên Tử, the gift is not only in watching a sunrise, but in receiving the energy of a mountain that has nurtured awakening for generations. A rare, transformative moment of grace, reserved for those who come not just to travel, but to awaken."
YEN TU
ANCIENT TEA, TIMELESS REFLECTIONS
Duration: 1.5 hours
This is a rare opportunity to step into a moment of stillness and depth, shared in an intimate tea meditation with Nguyễn Đức Hạnh, an entrepreneur, meditator, and Buddhist practitioner. Born into a humble family in Northern Vietnam, Hạnh once believed that success and material achievement were the true measures of happiness. Yet at the height of his career, surrounded by outward success, he encountered an unexpected sense of emptiness. That quiet realization became a turning point, leading him toward meditation, compassion, and a more meaningful inner path.
In this private gathering, you will savor traditional Vietnamese tea while engaging in thoughtful, unhurried conversation with Hạnh. While Chinese and Japanese tea cultures are widely celebrated, few are aware that Vietnam is also one of the ancient cradles of tea. Archaeological evidence reveals that wild tea trees have existed here for thousands of years. Vietnam remains home to vast forests of ancient tea, some hundreds and even thousands of years old, found nowhere else in the world. Across generations, tea has been woven quietly into Vietnamese life. Among all its expressions, one tea stands apart for its rarity and symbolism. Lotus tea was once reserved exclusively for royalty. Created by gently infusing tea leaves within freshly opened lotus flowers at dawn, it embodies purity, elegance, and spiritual refinement.
During the session, you will be introduced to the art and philosophy of Vietnamese tea, its history, and its rituals. From there, the conversation naturally opens into gentle reflections on suffering, impermanence, non-self, and the nature of true happiness. This is not simply a tea tasting. It is an invitation into mindfulness, culture, and self-discovery, shared in a way that feels personal and quietly profound. For those fortunate enough to be present, it may become one of those rare moments that lingers long after the tea has cooled.
YEN TU
AFTERNOON OF BALANCE
Duration: 4 hours
This afternoon offers a rare freedom to choose how you wish to spend your time. You may take part in a 90-minute classical yoga workshop, thoughtfully designed to restore balance to body, mind, and spirit. The session also opens space for reflections on themes deeply relevant to modern life, including stress, health, and the wisdom of Ayurveda. Participation is entirely optional, allowing each guest to follow their own rhythm.
Those who prefer stillness may retreat to the Zen Pool, a tranquil sanctuary embraced by forest and mountain views, or indulge in a traditional inspired spa treatment at the Am Tuệ Tĩnh Wellness Centre, where ancient healing philosophies are woven into contemporary comfort.
For guests drawn to culture and creativity, hands-on workshops in conical hat making, bamboo crafts, or Đông Hồ folk painting provide an intimate way to connect with Vietnamese heritage. Adventurous spirits may choose a gentle horseback ride, exploring the surrounding village and landscapes at an unhurried pace.
Whether you are drawn to movement, rest, culture, or quiet exploration, this afternoon at Legacy Yên Tử is yours to shape. It is a rare luxury to follow your own inclination, creating a personal experience of calm, curiosity, and connection in a place where time seems to slow.
DAY 5: SEE YOU AGAIN VIETNAM!
The morning is yours to enjoy at a gentle pace. You may choose to sleep in, or rise early to join a morning meditation, a yoga session, or a quiet walk during one of the most serene moments of the day in this special corner of Vietnam. After breakfast, there will be time to settle your belongings before we depart by private vehicle for the drive back to Noi Bai Airport on the outskirts of Hanoi, in time for your outbound flight.
